Is a cozy restaurant in the village with good food and great service. We order a lot of pizzas from this place. They also have vegan dishes, and some are organic.
Restaurante Asador Casa Chiquito.
Is located by the river and it’s a scenic drive to get there. Amazing meat dishes and they have the best croquettes I’ve tasted in Spain. Important with reservation.
El Rincon de Sole
The best takeaway in the village, and they have very good empanadas and pizza. Only 5-star reviews on google maps.
Restaurante Maitena
The food is quite basic, but it is a very nice location by the river. It is possible to swim in the river below the restaurant. In the weekends you may need reservation.
Meson Barranco San Juan
It is located at the end of the road along the river. In the summer it’s a beautiful spot for swimming in the river.
Restaurante Las Olivillas
Is located before entering the village and has a nice view over the mountains and the village. Nice lunch place with traditional Spanish dishes. I like the tapas and the salads are good there

Vía ferrata La Araña

The Old Tramway Route (Tranvía de la Sierra)
Interpretive route of the tram route to Sierra Nevada (Via Verde) For more than forty years we have not seen the tram that linked the Sierra Nevada with the capital, but the municipality of Güéjar Sierra is willing to lose this network of tunnels and landscapes and therefore was conditioned to become one of the hiking trails known as Via Verde, there are only two routes of this kind in the province. The layout is enabled as it passes through the municipality of Güéjar Sierra as a hiking route that runs through the very heart of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. Starting from the reservoir of channels and reaching Güéjar Sierra where we find restaurants that are located in the old stations of the tram itself as the unique building of "La Fabriquilla" or "El Maitena". One of the most popular walks in the area follows the old railway line known as the Tranvía de la Sierra. - A scenic, mostly flat walking route along the river - Suitable for all ages and fitness levels - You can walk as little or as much as you like
